Performed solo last night at the Queen Theater's "Open Mic." It was a little nerve wracking but in the immortal words of my Uncle Dan,  the show must go on and so it did.  I covered the Decemberist's "Shankill Butchers" and finished with one of my originals. The audience seemed very enthusiastic that I was performing solo. Time to move on....

The setting for our 45 min set was a fun place to hang out. The Film Brother are located on Market St. near the corner of 2nd st. Our start  time was 8:15pm. Even though we were assured that mic and amps would be provided, we brought our own mic(s), just in case. Glad we didn't need them  and we were able to use mic(s) and amps from XTRA ALLTRA www.reverbnation.com/xtraalltra (they are now our favorite "jam band")

I'm glad we could support the[blank]canvas.

Thanks to all our family and friends that came to our happy hour debut at the Queen Theater. It was great to see all the support. I can't praise the Queen Theater enough for their professionalism. Our set list went something like this:

My Sweetest Sin
Stay Right Here
Call It Off (Tegan and Sara)
Blue Sky
Maybe
Once Upon a Time
Secure Yourself (Indigo Girls)
Novacaine
Robert E Lee
The Real Me
Marvin's Room (Drake)
The Ocean
Rotting Away

Hope to play there again!
p.s. Thanks Granma and Granpa for the "tips!"

We played the Queen Theater last night and sang two originals, "The Ocean" and "Blue Sky. We were the 8th among 15 acts that were signed up to play. We like to sign up and be somewhere in the middle of the acts so more people can see and hear us. The host Kyle, has really been really nice with promoting us from the stage and we really do appreciate it!  This evening we handed out some promo material to some fans and got to hang up our two Concert Posters (see Concert tab) in the front of the lobby.  We are gearing up for Friday's Happy Hour show at the Queen. With just over an hour of cover and original songs, we should have no problem making this one "happy hour" for everyone in attendance. Just caught word that we can't leave out a tip jar on the stage during our performance, maybe my Dad can collect donations?

We are working on linking Facebook to our website...stay tuned

Just finished playing two sets on Friday Mar. 2nd  at our new favorite watering hole, "Gracie's Cafe" in Elkton MD.   http://openmikes.org/listings/graciescafe  We discovered the open mic location on openmikes.org and glad we did.  This place is sooo laid back! Couches and big comfy chairs through out the room.  Table and chairs are set-up so that you can see the performers on the stage.   They provide mics, amps etc. so we don't need to haul any gear accept my guitar.  A small $3.00 cover charge is requested but they in turn give you "3 Gracie Dollars" to buy soda, water, tea or SWEETS!  Glenn and Dave are so nice and accommodating.  You can tell they put a lot of time and thought into getting this open mic stage setting right and it shows.   I think we might even be able to "headline" in the future.. Oh yeah...Glenn runs a "quiz" show during the set breaks and it's a hoot hearing everyone call out answers.  Can't wait to visit them again.

Just finished playing a two song open mic set at the Queen Theater  http://openmikes.org/listings/queen  in Wilmington.  First song was "Once Upon A Time" and we finished with the "Ocean".  (a little homage to my Mom) We really like the vibe here and there is always a good showing of musicians and patrons.  Kyle (the host) is always accommodating and we really enjoy playing here every Tuesday.  Our new best friends (and fellow open mike "ers" are "FishCastle" and can't wait to see them again!

If anyone is following us, I just designed some concert posters for a couple of upcoming concerts.  Check them out under the "Upcoming Concert" tab and see the calendar if you need to directions to the events. Hope to see you there.

Bring lotsa of $1.00 bills, we play for tips :-)

We weren't able to play our usual Tuesday "Open Mic" night at the Queen Theater because Vikki and I were sick.

The Queen was  full of people this evening. Not sure where all these people came from?
